Full-Stack Engineer & Technical Lead, 25 years in
Fortunato Geelhoed
I build, fix, and lead TypeScript platforms end to end. This site is built three times, in React, Vue, and Angular, to illustrate that the fundamentals carry across all of them.
What I do
What I can do for you
- 01
Full-Stack Engineering
TypeScript from the database to the browser: React, NestJS, GraphQL and REST APIs, Nx monorepos, plus the CI/CD and containers around it. Built to run in production.
- 02
Frontend Architecture
Frontends built to outlast the team that started them. Design systems, micro-frontends shipped as packages, server-side and static rendering for performance.
- 03
AI Integration & Automation
MCP servers, agentic workflows, RAG over your own data, and self-hosted models for when privacy rules out the cloud.
- 04
Technical Leadership
Architecture calls, tech-debt strategy, design reviews, without stepping away from the code.
How I work
A few things I've learned to do.
Work it out before building it
Ask the right questions early. Get the requirements straight, understand what people actually need, and save yourself the rework later.
Leave the team stronger
Test coverage, static analysis, careful review, and sharing what I know. The aim is a team that's in better shape than before I arrived.
Fast, but I own what ships
I build with AI in the loop to move quickly, and I stay responsible for every line that goes out. I don't ship code I can't explain.
Pay down the debt that matters
Not all tech debt is worth fixing. I rank it by what actually slows delivery, so a refactor pays for itself instead of becoming the project.
Frameworks
Frameworks come and go. The craft compounds.
When I started in 2000, I was building with ASP, Flash, and table layouts. I've relearned the job every few years since.

Reading My Own Git Log
I drove Claude Code through all 209 commits of this site and typed almost none of it by hand. Then I read every commit and sorted it, to see what the AI actually built and what I still had to know.

Too React
A recruiter said I was "too React" for an Angular role. I might have overreacted a bit as a result, this site is built in React, Vue, and Angular. I believe that senior frontend fundamentals transfer.
